The Honesdale Hornets football team (Honesdale, PA), was beaten 35-17 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA)

The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against North Pocono (Covington Township, PA). The Trojans come into the Lackawanna 1 challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, North Pocono was beaten by Hazleton Area (Hazleton, PA), 54-7, in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Lackawanna Trail for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 16. Honesdale will meet a Lions team coming off a 14-6 non-league win over Greater Nanticoke Area (Nanticoke, PA). The Lions record now stands at 3-0.
