The Athenian Owls volleyball team (Danville, CA), went down 3-0 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Head-Royce Jayhawks (Oakland, CA)

The Jayhawks (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Deer Valley (Antioch, CA). The Wolverines enter the non-league challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Deer Valley defeated West (Tracy, CA), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Owls encounter the Bentley Phoenix (Lafayette, CA) in a Bay Counties - East challenge, on Tuesday, September 13. Athenian will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Phoenix enter the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Redwood Christian (San Lorenzo, CA).
