The Longwood Lions topped the visiting William Floyd Colonials volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Friday's league test.

The Lions now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sachem East for a Section 11 AA-1 test on Monday, September 12. Longwood will confront a team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Kellenberg Memorial (Uniondale, NY). The record now stands at 1-1.

The Colonials (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Patchogue-Medford (Medford, NY). The Raiders go into the Section 11 AA-1 contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Patchogue-Medford beat Sachem North (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY), 3-0, in a league contest.
