The Empire Bulldogs (Duncan, OK) softball nipped the visiting Walters Blue Devils (Walters, OK), 5-4 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Bulldogs (21-8) will now prepare for their bout against Velma-Alma (Velma, OK). The Comets go into the Class A bout with a 3-17 record.

The Blue Devils now possess a 13-16 record. They play next when they host MacArthur for a non-league bout on Monday, September 11. Walters will confront a Highlanders squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Verden (Verden, OK). The Highlanders record now stands at 8-16.
