In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Straughn Tigers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Goshen Eagles.
The Tigers (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against Opp (Opp, AL). The Bobcats come into the 3A Area 3 battle with a 11-1 record. In their last battle, Opp lost by Pleasant Home (Andalusia, AL), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Eagles clash with the Kinston Bulldogs (Kinston, AL) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 9. Goshen will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Bulldogs come into the battle with a 4-6 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Andalusia (Andalusia, AL).
