Shaky passing from the Lake Balboa JV was more than enough for the Sun Valley Magnet Pioneer JV to sweep in 2. A 9 point head start in each set was just too much to overcome for the plucky JV. The Sun Valley JV dropped 18 aces on the Cougars. Sofia-Marie Piszton was the lone Cougar shining brightly as she put up a 3.0 avg. on the 5 point USA Volleyball passing scale. The LBCP JV did post positive serving stats with 6 aces against 4 service errors. They were led by Captain Kennia Martinez Ayala's 3 aces. Kennia also tallied 4 digs & 2 assists to help the JV cause. Christina Garcia & Sofia Contreras also had shields up with 4 digs each. There was an offensive highlight from Co-Captain Emily Rosenthal who managed to find the hardwood on 2 of her 5 swings for a nifty .400 hitting percentage. Lake Balboa 's JV has only 4 more matches left: another with Sun Valley Magnet, Immaculate Heart, Panorama, & a possible match versus Magnolia Science Academy Winnetka which has yet to made official.
