In Monday's league match, the visiting Hilldale Hornets softball team scored a nice 21-7 win over the Vinita Hornets.

The Hornets (8-1) will now prepare for their match against Sallisaw (Sallisaw, OK). The Black Diamonds come into the non-league match with a 2-12 record. In their last match, Sallisaw was routed by Broken Bow (Broken Bow, OK), 13-2, in a league match.

In their next game, the Hornets confront the Grove Ridgerunners (Grove, OK) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, September 10. Vinita will attempt to better on its 4-12 season record. The Ridgerunners come into the match with a 6-5 record after their 9-3 non-league loss to Claremore (Claremore, OK).
