Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) and the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), observed Amherst County's volleyball team top Nelson County by a count of 3-0.

The Lancers (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA). The Bulldogs enter the Seminole contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Liberty Christian notched a victory over Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Governors battle the Buffalo Gap Bison (Swoope, VA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 10. Nelson County will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Bison enter the contest with a 3-1 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Luray (Luray, VA).
