In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Shelby County Wildcats volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Vincent Yellow Jackets.

The Wildcats (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Central of Clay County (Lineville, AL). The Volunteers come into the 5A Area 8 challenge with a 2-3 record.

Next, the Yellow Jackets play the Cornerstone Eagles (Birmingham, AL) in a 2A Area 9 challenge, on Thursday, September 12. Vincent will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
