The Cook Hornets softball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting Appling County Pirates to 1 in the Hornets league win on Tuesday.

The Hornets now possess a 14-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pierce County for a 2A Region 3 battle on Thursday, September 11. Cook will confront a Bears team coming off a 11-0 league win over Crisp County (Cordele, GA). The Bears record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Appling County moves to 5-4 on the season. The Pirates host Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA) to confront the Warriors in a 2A Region 3 battle on Thursday, September 11. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Tattnall County won 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Bryan County (Pembroke, GA)
