In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the visiting Heidelberg Oilers volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Quitman Panthers.

The Oilers (1-6) will now prepare for their test against Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Bay Springs was edged by Enterprise (Enterprise, MS), 3-0, in a league test.

The Panthers now sport a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Southeast Lauderdale for a Class 3A Region 5 test on Thursday, September 11. Quitman will face a Tigers squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Union (Union, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-10.
