Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC) and the host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), observed Piedmont Community Charter's volleyball team top Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy by a count of 3-0.

The Patriots (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Carolina International (Concord, NC). The Comets enter the Catawba River 1A/2A/3A battle with a 3-7 record. In their last battle, Carolina International achieved victory over Sugar Creek Charter (Charlotte, NC), 3-2, in a league battle.

The Gryphons now own a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy for a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A battle on Thursday, September 11. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Mountain Island Charter (Mt. Holly, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-9.
