Softball Recap: Colcord Has No Trouble Against Ketchum

Colcord got themselves on the board against Ketchum on Tuesday, but Ketchum never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Shae Downing was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Downing was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Gracie Evans was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Jenna Simmons was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

The win got Colcord back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colcord will challenge Hulbert at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ketchum, they will head out to square off against Wyandotte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
