Soccer Recap: Monterey Trail Comes Up Short

Monterey Trail lost against Pleasant Grove back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Monterey Trail Mustangs came up short against the Pleasant Grove Eagles, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Eagles are ranked 80th).

Monterey Trail's goal came courtesy of Isabella Barrientos, who's now up to eight this season.

Monterey Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-3. As for Pleasant Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1.

Monterey Trail and West will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McClatchy at 3:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
