Basketball Game Preview: Lanesville Eagles vs. Scottsburg Warriors

The Lanesville Eagles will take on the Scottsburg Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lanesville's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Scottsburg has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Lanesville is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Perry Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Lanesville put the hurt on Perry Central with a sharp 59-34 win on Tuesday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Hadley Crosier, who went 10 for 15 on her way to 25 points in addition to six assists and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lanesville's points. Shelby Allen was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds.

Lanesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Scottsburg hadn't done well against Jeffersonville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Scottsburg secured a 48-44 W over Jeffersonville.

Scottsburg has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Lanesville, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Lanesville strolled past Scottsburg when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 60-41. Does Lanesville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Scottsburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
