Softball Recap: Piedmont Academy Cougars vs. First Presbyterian Day Vikings
Piedmont Academy extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-18. They lost 9-1 to the First Presbyterian Day Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-0 loss back in September.
Piedmont Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Ellen Stroud, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for First Presbyterian Day, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.
On First Presbyterian Day's side, the team relied heavily on Addison Arnold, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Claudia Green, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
