Soccer Game Preview: Tamalpais vs. St. Ignatius College Preparatory

The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks will challenge the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Tamalpais is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

Tamalpais took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand Montgomery a 4-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Tailed Hawks needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Lauren Willard and Addie Covey scored all four of Tamalpais' goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory entered their contest against Mission Hills last Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. St. Ignatius College Preparatory fell just short of Mission Hills by a score of 1-0. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Ignatius College Preparatory fell to 2-1-4. As for Tamalpais, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-3.
