There's no place like home for Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Shaw Raiders with a sharp 13-6 victory on Tuesday. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Addi Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emily Balauitan was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Layla Hendrick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Columbus' win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Shaw, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 14-11.
