Baseball Game Preview: Proviso East Pirates vs. Willowbrook Warriors

Proviso East hasn't had much luck against Willowbrook recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pirates will host the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Proviso East has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Proviso East lost 14-4 to Glenbard West on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Willowbrook waltzed into their game on Friday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They came out on top against the Blazers by a score of 7-4.

Jory Crocker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryan Dasbach was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Bonino, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Proviso East's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Willowbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.
