Soccer Game Preview: Desert vs. Bishop Union

Desert hasn't had much luck against Bishop Union recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Desert Scorpions will venture away from home to take on the Bishop Union Broncos at 3:00 p.m.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Desert's offense. They lost 8-0 to Kern Valley on Thursday. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Bishop Union had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 goals) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Roadrunners a 3-0 shutout. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by three goals or more this season.

Brooke Taylor and Alyssa Buchholz scored all three of Bishop Union's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 39 goals.

Bishop Union pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those six contests. As for Desert, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Desert suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Bishop Union in their previous meeting back in January. Can Desert avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
