Soccer Game Preview: Kearny vs. Preuss UCSD

The Kearny Komets will square off against the Preuss UCSD Tritons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Kearny has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with eight straight defeats, while Preuss UCSD will come in with four straight wins.

Kearny fell victim to Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Komets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 926th, while the Patriots are ranked 365th).

Meanwhile, Preuss UCSD kept a clean sheet against Mountain Empire on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Redhawks.

Kearny's loss dropped their record down to 4-13-2. As for Preuss UCSD, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Kearny took their victory against Preuss UCSD in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 6-1. Will Kearny repeat their success, or does Preuss UCSD have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
