Recap: Don Lugo Conquistadores vs. Chino Cowboys        
        
		
            
 After a string of four wins, the Don Lugo Conquistadores's good fortune finally ran out  on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough  74-20 loss at the hands of Chino. Don Lugo has not had much luck with Chino recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
  Makena Encarnacion and  Sarah Magadan certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss.  Encarnacion  scored six points along with nine  rebounds and four  blocks, while  Magadan  scored three points. Those four  blocks set a new season-high mark for her.
 Chino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Lyndsey Valverde led the charge by  dropping  a double-double on 23 points and 11  steals. The  game was  Valverde's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Tess Oldenburg, who  scored 21 points along with seven  rebounds and six  steals.
 Don Lugo's defeat  ended a three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 6-4. As for Chino, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Don Lugo won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Garey at 3:30  p.m.  on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in California (Garey is ranked 481st, while Don Lugo is ranked 480th). Chino will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Montclair at 5:00  p.m.  on January 9, 2024.
