Softball Recap: Ralston Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ralston). They never let the Malcolm Clippers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The Rams not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2, 2024 (when they won 19-1).

Ralston let Addie Aude and Lucy Bodnar run wild. Aude went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Bodnar went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that Aude has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Ochsner, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Ralston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. The last time their OBP was this high was back in October of 2024.

Ralston pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Malcolm, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ralston will square off against Platteview at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.29 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Malcolm, they will challenge Milford on Thursday. This will be the Clippers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
