Baseball Recap: North Cobb Comes Up Short

North Cobb had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it four. They fell just short of Cherokee by a score of 6-4. That's two games in a row now that North Cobb has lost by exactly two runs.

As for Cherokee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

For Cherokee's part, Hudson Will was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Will has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Andre Sweet, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cherokee beat North Cobb by a score of 5-3 later that day.
