Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Heritage Christian

Heritage Christian won the last time they faced Flatirons Academy, and Alec Lundy did his part to make sure it happened again. The Heritage Christian Eagles strolled past the Flatirons Academy Bison with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 68-53 thanks in part to Lundy, who went 11 for 22 en route to 27 points and seven steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Levi Hermsen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Brandon Ewing and Jackson Schulz certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Ewing went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points and eight boards, while Schulz went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. Ewing is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 21 or more in the last five games he's played. Shawn Austermann also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Heritage Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Flatirons Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Heritage Christian has already played their next match, an 86-12 victory against Gilpin County on the 23rd. As for Flatirons Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-49 loss against Estes Park on the 28th.
