            The Tonganoxie Chieftains will take on the Fort Scott Tigers on Friday. Tonganoxie is coming into the  game on  a  three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Tonganoxie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  14-10 to Ottawa. That's two games in a row now that the Chieftains have lost by  exactly four  points.

 Despite the  loss, Tonganoxie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Bodee Maslak threw for 133 yards and one  touchdown, and also rushed for 56 yards on only seven carries. 80 of  Maslak's passing yards were hauled in by Jacob Morenz.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Scott). They took their  matchup  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  48-6 win over Field Kindley. With the Tigers ahead  41-0 at the half, the  contest was all but over already.
 The  victory made it two in a row for Fort Scott and  bumps their season record up to 3-5. The  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 19  points in those games. As for Tonganoxie, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Tonganoxie didn't have too much breathing room in their  game against Fort Scott  in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with  a  34-28 victory. Do  the Chieftains have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
