Baseball Recap: J Walker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Westfield

Longmeadow hadn't done well against Westfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Lancers never let the Bombers get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Bombers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to J Passonno's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Longmeadow saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J Walker, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Walker has posted since back in April. Another was E Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Longmeadow's record now sits at 14-4. As for Westfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Longmeadow nor Westfield have any future games scheduled.
