Miller gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Port Isabel Tarpons as they made off with a 66-45 win. The Buccaneers have beaten the Tarpons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tarpons has come to flipping the script.

Miller's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charles Perry led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Gidrey, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards.

Miller smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Port Isabel's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Miller will square off against Mercedes on Tuesday.
