Baseball Game Preview: Metter Tigers vs. Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs

The Metter Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Metter will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Claxton on Thursday. Metter blew past Claxton 12-0. The result was nothing new for Metter, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Emanuel County Institute came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 21st.

Emanuel County Institute pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Metter, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
