Dominick Hopkins and Jimmy Anderson were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Hopkins struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Anderson tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave Hopkins a new career-high. At bat, Hopkins scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Anderson got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Hayden Beasley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Scholars Guild Academy entered their tilt with Horizon Christian Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged out the Warriors 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since April 26, 2024.
Jacob Chupp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ty Newton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Strange, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Scholars Guild Academy pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.67 hits in those games compared to only 3.8 in the others. As for The King's Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal.
