Basketball Recap: Medora Piles Up the Points Against Cannelton

Medora was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cannelton on Friday. The Medora Hornets blew past the Cannelton Bulldogs 80-24. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 28 points or more this season.

Medora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ault Hineman, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hineman a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Waylon Burrell, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points.

Medora's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Cannelton, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Columbus Christian the next time they take the court. Cannelton will host Columbus Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Medora will host them at 8:00 p.m. on January 18th.
