Softball Recap: Bennett Comes Up Short

If Bennett was feeling good fresh off their 21-7 takedown of Middle Park on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 13-2 to the Arvada Bulldogs on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Bennett saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macy Meyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Adelyn Westendorf was another, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Bennett's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Arvada, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Bennett will be playing at home against Florence at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arvada, they will challenge Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.43 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
