Cumberland Valley Christian finds home court redemption against Mount Airy Christian Academy

There's no place like home for the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Mount Airy Christian Academy on Friday as Cumberland Valley Christian made off with a 49-27 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Cumberland Valley Christian has posted since December 12, 2023.

Cumberland Valley Christian found their leader in underclassman Makenna Morris, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morris has scored all season. Victoria Price was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Several Mount Airy Christian Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reaghan Sizemore, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Pier, who scored two points along with ten rebounds.

The win got Cumberland Valley Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Valley Christian and Shalom Christian Academy will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shalom Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Greater Grace Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greater Grace Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mount Airy Christian Academy in Maryland (Greater Grace Christian Academy is ranked 90th, while Mount Airy Christian Academy is ranked 265th).
