Baseball Game Preview: Brookstone Cougars vs. Bulloch Academy Gators

For the second straight game, Brookstone will face off against Bulloch Academy. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Gators at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brookstone 2.4, Bulloch Academy 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Brookstone is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Bulloch Academy.

Brennan Neal made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gray Jones and Charles Briscoe did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI, while Briscoe got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Jones has posted since back in March.

Brookstone has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for Bulloch Academy, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-8.
