Basketball Recap: Apostles Lutheran Falls Despite Big Games from Jocelyn Husted and Katie Marchese

Apostles Lutheran played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Latino College Preparatory Academy Golden Eagles, falling 29-3. The Falcons were down 23-1 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Katie Marchese and Jocelyn Husted certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Marchese posted no points and 11 boards, while Husted had no points and four steals. Marchese also posted an assist, marking her first of the season.

Apostles Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Latino College Preparatory Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Apostles Lutheran and Latino College Preparatory Academy's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Apostles Lutheran and Tennyson (who has only given up 29.75 points per game) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Latino College Preparatory Academy will face off against Luis Valdez Leadership Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, a team that's only allowed 24.14 points per game.
