Basketball Recap: Bellflower Takes a Loss

After flying high against Firebaugh last Wednesday, Bellflower came back down to earth. The Bellflower Buccaneers took a blow against the Dominguez Dons on Friday, falling 58-26. The contest was a close 20-19 at the break, but unfortunately for the Buccaneers it sure didn't stay that way.

Dominguez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MYA HARRIS, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. HARRIS is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was KAYLA SCOTT, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Bellflower has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Dominguez, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

Bellflower has already played their next match, a 70-14 defeat against La Mirada on the 22nd. As for Dominguez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-34 win against Warren on the 22nd.
