Softball Recap: Johns Creek Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Johns Creek nor Dawson County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Gladiators fell 3-0 to the Tigers. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Gladiators were not able to get on the board.

Uma Pittman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

Johns Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Dawson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Johns Creek is taking a road trip to square off against Seckinger at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Gladiators their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Dawson County, they will take on Rabun County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
