Recap: Santa Fe Chiefs vs. La Serna Lancers
The Santa Fe Chiefs lost against the La Serna Lancers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Santa Fe fell to La Serna 47-41.
Santa Fe lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emily Collins, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Abigail Cetina was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for La Serna, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.
Santa Fe will head out on the road to face off against California at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. California presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Fe in California (California is ranked 275th, while Santa Fe is ranked 693rd). La Serna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against San Gabriel at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th. San Gabriel has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
