Baseball Recap: East Jackson Comes Up Short

East Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Monday.

Warren Hilley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, East Jackson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Richardson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

East Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

While East Jackson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
