Soccer Game Preview: Tri-City Christian vs. Escondido

The Tri-City Christian Eagles will square off against the Escondido Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-City Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Tri-City Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hoover a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Hoover with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gracie Lisak (6), Hailey Kemp, Abby Lisak, and Sydney Kemp.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Escondido took on Morse on Tuesday. Escondido narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Morse 2-1.

Tri-City Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Escondido, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Tri-City Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Escondido in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Tri-City Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Escondido turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
