Basketball Recap: Monessen Comes Up Short

Monessen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the West Greene Pioneers and fell 58-13. The game marked the Greyhounds' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Kendra Tharp, who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals for West Greene. With that strong performance, Tharp is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Davis, who posted ten points.

Monessen's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for West Greene, they moved to 10-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Monessen has already played their next match (against Avella), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Greene didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-30 win against Mapletown on the 28th.
