Baseball Game Preview: Drew Charter vs. McEachern Indians

Drew Charter will venture away from home to face off against the McEachern Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Drew Charter comes in on three and McEachern on 11.

McEachern's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Drew Charter hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Drew Charter put the hurt on South Atlanta with a sharp 17-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Drew Charter, who have now won four games by 15 runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Haynes, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Drew Charter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlos Crane, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Drew Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

McEachern played against New Manchester on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

McEachern's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Drew Charter, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
