Softball Recap: Palisade Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

There's no place like home for Palisade, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past the Fruita Monument Wildcats 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Wednesday, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

MacKenzie Gray made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Gray wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joey Donaldson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Palisade is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Fruita Monument, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

Palisade wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Montrose on the 7th. As for Fruita Monument, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-0 victory against Durango on the 4th.
