Hortonville is 8-2 against Oshkosh West since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Polar Bears will challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hortonville will be strutting in after a victory while Oshkosh West will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Hortonville made easy work of Appleton West and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Polar Bears.
Hortonville walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hortonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Tank, who had three digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Tank a new career-high.
They weren't the only good servers: Hortonville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Oshkosh West unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Kimberly by a score of 3-2.
Oshkosh West took Kimberly into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16, 15-9.
Hortonville will have to contain Olivia Xiong as she made an impact in Oshkosh West's last game. She had nine digs and two assists. Kayana Turner also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Hortonville's record is now 15-12. As for Oshkosh West, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Hortonville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Oshkosh West struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Hortonville might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Oshkosh West in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Polar Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
