Recap: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Westview Wolverines
The Torrey Pines Falcons's 25-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a hard 59-42 fall against Westview on Monday. Torrey Pines has not had much luck with Westview recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Torrey Pines lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lily Oliva. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. Sienna Barry was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 7 rebounds.
Westview can attribute much of their success to Sydney Heyn, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Heyn has scored at least 25% of Westview's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Heyn, who scored 7 points along with 11 assists and 9 rebounds.
Torrey Pines now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Westview, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Torrey Pines will be staying on the road on November 28th to face off against Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th. As for Westview, they will face off against Tournament Opponent at 6:15 p.m. on November 29th.
