Softball Recap: Blair Oaks Wins Going Away Against Osage

Blair Oaks had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Osage on Tuesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Indians. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lydia Sullens made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (two). She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Blair Oaks got a massive performance out of Belle Boessen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Boessen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Hagner, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Blair Oaks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Blair Oaks' victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Osage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blair Oaks will take on Jefferson City at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jays' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Osage, they will head out on the road to challenge Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
