Football Recap: Mount View Comes Up Short

Mount View scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by the Tug Valley Panthers 60-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Knights of the 48-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Tug Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston May, who threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Gavin Fitzpatrick was another key receiver, picking up 160 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Mount View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Tug Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount View will head out to take on Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Knights will be up against the Blue Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tug Valley, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Man at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
