Baseball Recap: Arcola Gets the Win

While Arcola's victory against Westville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Purple Riders had just enough and edged out the Tigers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Purple Riders have posted since April 20th.

The team relied heavily on Brevyn Whisman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Arcola's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-1 (and 1-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hunter Drake, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Arcola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Arcola's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9.
