Volleyball Recap: Providence Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lakewood

With a playoff win on the line, Providence rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Lakewood Lancers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since September 27th.

Providence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 22-25, 29-27, 26-24, 18-16.

The victory made it two in a row for Providence and bumps their season record up to 22-12. As for Lakewood, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-23.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Providence and Wiseburn- Da Vinci will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
