Baseball Recap: KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Comes Up Short

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Therrell Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-1 last Wednesday.

Christian Alexander made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Jeremiah Hall also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Therrell, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is set to take on their familiar foe Hapeville Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Therrell will face off against rival Carver at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Therrell's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Carver has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
